For Newcomers
Welcome, newcomer, to our website! Our congregation is an open and loving community devoted to matters of the spirit, matters of justice, and matters of the earth. Here we seek truth, celebrate mystery, and honor human dignity across all boundaries. As a “Welcoming Congregation,” we affirm the full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. And we seek to welcome you. Whether you live in Winchester or any one of its surrounding communities; whether you’re familiar with Unitarian Universalism or you’ve just begun your explorations; whether you come from another faith tradition or whether you come from no faith tradition at all, you can find a home here.
We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about the congregation, our ministers, and our programs for all ages. We encourage you to explore Unitarian Universalism. And most of all, we encourage you to visit our congregation.
Before and after worship our co-ministers, Revs. Sarah and John Millspaugh, and our music director John Kramer look forward to greeting you.
Visiting Winchester Unitarian Society
All are welcome! Every Sunday at 10:30 we gather for worship, with a spiritually-deepening sermon, inspiring music, thought-provoking readings, and a grounding time of prayer and meditation. Services typically finish by 11:45, and are followed by a social hour with refreshments and opportunities for connections. Visitors are encouraged to explore our Information for Newcomers table to learn more about Winchester Unitarian Society and all it has to offer. Dress is casual to Sunday best.
For families:
From September through June we offer engaging and inclusive Religious Education programs for preschool through high school, as well as childcare for infants and toddlers. On the first Sunday of the month, children start at 10:30 with a children’s chapel service before dividing into age-centered classes. Other Sundays the children begin by worshipping in the sanctuary with their parents and then travelling to their classes. Classes for preschool through 6th grade run until 11:45 a.m. Our special programs for 7th grade, 8th grade, and high school meet at different times. Contact Rebecca Kelley-Morgan, our Director of Lifespan Religious Education, to learn about preschool through 8th grade, and Jessica Rubenstein, our Director of Youth Ministries to learn about high school programs. We look forward to welcoming your family and orienting you to the programs we have to offer.
