Winchester Unitarian Society

Standing Committee (SC)News

Phil and I had a wonderful time in India and Nepal and returned home for the Dine Around the World fundraiser.  We hosted eleven at our Syrian Soiree.  From all reports, this new fundraiser was a resounding success!  Good food in the comfort of congregants’ homes (and the Symmes Room thanks to WUS staff!) provided a fun opportunity to catch up with old friends or meet new UUs while contributing to the operating expenses of the Winchester Unitarian Society.

Special thanks to Martha Werler, Susan McPhee, Julie Khuen and Betsy Bowles (the Dine Around Committee) and the many host, hostesses, sous chefs AND adventurous diners, without which this fundraiser would not have been possible.

At the President’s Day Sunday service and in the Highlights, Chair Kate Ebbott has announced the schedule and special events planned for this year’s Pledge Drive.  Special guest Rev. Jim Sherblom will preach on the March 4th kick-off Sunday service.  Please also attend an Introduction to the Winchester Unitarian Society’s Finances session at 12 noon on Sunday, February 26th or 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 7th. The Pledge Team and SC members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding priorities and challenges in terms of SC budget deliberations.

The weekly Highlights have also addressed our budget process, sources of revenue and where the money goes.  Help make this year’s Pledge Campaign especially informative, collaborative, generous and nourishing to our growth.

                                                                        Namaste,

                                                                        Marilyn Mullane, Chair
