Winchester Unitarian Society

What's Happening

Worship:

Each Sunday the congregation gathers for worship at 10:30 a.m.  After church there is a social hour with time for refreshments, fellowship, conversation and a chance to deepen relationships.

Children’s Religious Education and Youth Programming:

From September to June the church has a religious education program for preschool through eighth grade and a youth program for grades nine through twelve. Childcare is always available for infants and toddlers.

Adult Religious Education:

The church offers multiple opportunities for adults to grow in spirit, in ethics, in skills and in identity.  There is an ongoing book group, yoga and meditation groups and grief support.  In the fall of 2009 each Sunday after services there will be a drop in workshop to help people develop spiritual practices.  Also this fall there are classes and groups on college planning, caring for aging parents, stress management, music appreciation and end of life issues.

Music:

The church is fortunate to have an adult choir that rehearses most Sundays at 8:45 a.m. and then sings during the service.  There is also a children’s choir for children ages six through twelve.

Social Outreach and Relief Work:

The church has an active Social Outreach Committee and many adults and youth have been involved in relief work in New Orleans and Roxbury.  Also our religious education program has REACH OUT events so that the children of the church have a practical and positive way to do meaningful social outreach.

And much more . . .

There are circle dinners, where small groups meet several times in members’ homes to socialize and become better acquainted.  Each year there a variety of social events: picnics, dances, and potlucks.
