We appreciate everyone’s input through your survey responses and discussions. We heard you! Last week, we submitted the application to the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association).
Now that the application is complete, the UUA Transition Office will match us with up to six trained Interim Ministers who expressed interest in our application. We expect those names on Sunday, April 28, and we’ll set up interviews next week. Your input is also informing the questions we will ask the potential candidates.
We want to remind you that the role of the Interim Minister varies from a Settled Minister (such as Rev. Heather). The Interim Minister will still preach, supervise staff, and care for our pastoral needs, AND they will help us examine and improve our policies, procedures, and practices. They will prepare us to search for a new Settled Minister. The Interim Minister position is for two years.
After interviews, we submit our top choices to the UUA and potential matches also submit their top choices (they are being considered by other churches too!), and the UUA will let us know who our ideal match is! All this will occur by mid-May. We’ll continue to keep you posted!
Warmly,
Patty, Woody, Kathy, Sarah and Tricia
