Summer Group Ministry and Spiritual Practice Opportunities

Please join our summer minister, Deb Morgan Bennett, on Tuesdays throughout the summer for:

Meditation and Conversation in the Garden

2:15–3:30 PM

We will pick an inspiring reading, piece of poetry or topic to meditate on and explore together. Feel free to bring possible readings or ideas for topics.
We will meet in the Meditation Garden unless it is raining.

Qi Gong for Health, Vitality and Stress Relief

6:45–8 PM

Qi Gong is the ancient Taoist practice of breathing, gentle stretches and flowing movements designed to awaken the body’s own healing energy while relaxing the mind.
No special equipment is required, just wear comfortable clothing and bring a curious mind.

Each week we will focus on different movements to address various health concerns, but all exercises are wonderful for general vitality, relaxation and spiritual attunement, so feel free to come to them all.
Each session will end with a meditative relaxation.

July 11: Qi Gong introduction and opening the breath

July 18: Stress Relief

July 25: Healthy Joints

August 1: Digestive Health

August 8: No class

August 15: Weight Loss

August 22: Buddha Palm (for healing self and others)

August 28: Longevity

Music News

Summer Choir: All are welcome to join the Summer Choir
for a fun, easy, and relaxed singing experience.

Summer choir rehearses at 9:45 am on Sunday July 9th, July 23rd,
August 6th & August 20th.

With a short and joyful rehearsal we usually sing something familiar or tuneful, a round,

an easy anthem, or even a hymn arrangement.

Did you know that Summer choir is one of the best things about the summer?!
We hope you will join us and please contact Music Director John Kramer

(john.kramer@winchesteruu.org) if you have any questions.

Grief Support Group Meeting

Wednesday, July 19th, 7:30-9:00 PM

The Grief Support Group is open to anyone in the community who has experienced loss and seeks a caring environment to process the complex feelings of grieving. If you have experienced a death of someone in your life and would like to explore your grief with other people who have also experienced loss, please consider attending a grief support group meeting.  Everyone makes his or her own individual journey after experiencing loss. Our group has found that by sharing our journeys with each other, we are strengthened and comforted.

The grief support meetings start with a reading and then a check-in by participants. You can say as much or as little as you feel comfortable saying (you can also choose to pass if you want.) Usually personal check-ins last a few minutes each and should be uninterrupted. Then the conversation opens up. The facilitator usually starts off this conversation with a topic or question to discuss. The meetings conclude at 9pm. Our meetings are confidential- we ask that everyone observe the guideline that what is said in a meeting, stays in the meeting.

Our summer student minister Deborah Morgan Bennett will be facilitating the meeting.

Please feel free to contact Karen Erikson 781-729-7249 or by emailKarenErikson@comcast.net if you would like more information OR just show up at a meeting. No RSVP needed.
