One of the important things we do as a spiritual and religious community is engage in spiritual practices and rituals to help us mark the major milestones and events in life. From child dedications, to weddings, to memorial services, we engage in rituals as a community to help us welcome new life, transition into a new family configuration, and to grieve the loss of those we love. This Sunday, we will be participating with several of teens in celebrating their transition into early young adulthood. Similar to confirmation or bar/bat mitzvahs in other traditions, the Coming of Age process our teens have been engaged in this year is helping prepare them for this next stage of their lives. In preparation for this moment, they have been learning, studying, and reflecting all year, and are prepared now to share their credo statements with us, statements that share with us what is on their hearts, as they think about their beliefs and vision for their lives. Please join us to honor these younger folks among us and the journey they have been on this year, as we celebrate the step they are taking into their future.
