Anger is Love – 10:00 Summer Service

With love at the center of Unitarian Universalist values and love a guiding ethic in our moral and spiritual lives, this can leave us with a deeply conflicted relationship to the emotion of anger. This service will be a deeply personal exploration of our complex relationship to anger. We will explore how anger can be related to a wounded childhood self and its expression can cause harm to others; this kind of anger requires compassion, healing and effective management throughout our lives. We will also explore another form of anger that emerges from a place when our deepest held values are violated and from recognition of injustice. We will discuss how this form of anger is an expression of love and may be what we need to harness at this moment to catalyse social change.
