This special Music Sunday features the premiere of the Freedom and Democracy Suite by Music Director John Kramer. This five-movement cantata for choir, small ensemble, and soloists explores multiple aspects of our democratic experiment, how it has worked to expand rights for its citizenry, and how those rights are being threatened today. The work includes texts by Theodore Parker, Martin Luther King Jr, Emily Dickinson, the United States Constitution, Bible, and others. This promises to be a deeply meaningful and beautiful morning service, ultimately ending with a message of hope.
