When confronting both ordinary and extraordinary challenges in life, we can often feel deflated and unsure of ourselves. In these moments, what might be the benefit of a well-timed and encouraging “pep talk”? Connecting to the Unitarian values of love, generosity, interdependence, and transformation, this service will explore the power of the pep talk to bolster each other (and ourselves) during difficult times. More than a mere cheerleading session, a robust pep talk from a friend or family member can help us see ourselves (and our capabilities) in ways that we might ordinarily dismiss or overlook. Additionally, how might giving ourselves pep talks be the beginning of self-generosity and self-transforming experiences? How might bolstering ourselves then turn into bolstering others, in a larger interdependent cycle? Join us on Sunday for a multifaceted exploration of pep talks and their critical role at this moment in time.
