Religious Education and Youth Update 4/4/24

RE: This past Sunday, we gathered for our second annual egg hunt on the front lawn of WUS. There were many, many more hunters than last year, which led to a dearth of eggs to find. Kids were so understanding, kind, and willing to share, though, which was a nice early Easter surprise! After hunting, we all headed into the Easter service for all ages, where kids got to parade in bearing Easter flowers, hear the Easter story and how it’s centered on loving one another, and also got a rock to take home with a personal message on it for each of them.

This coming Sunday we’ll return to regular RE classes. Spirit Play 1 will hear a story about Ruby Bridges and Spirit Play 2 will hear a story about George Washington Carver. Neighboring Faiths will write notes of thanks for the wonderful presentation by the fa shi (nun) at Massachusetts Buddhist Association, whom we visited with on Monday evening. The kids got to hear about the different bodhisattva at the temple, play meditation instruments, and do a walking meditation with fruit! Neighboring Faiths will also start their study of Hinduism, so be sure to bring your books! The nursery kids will enjoy fun, games, books, and laughs with Celia and Ryan.

This Sunday we have a regular meeting, 4:30-6:30. Sam is back from sabbatical! So we’ll be catching up with him, but also preparing for our Service Trip which begins the following Saturday.
